Tax Profiles: There is a new settings page in your store settings section. This can be used to create "tax profiles" which give more fine-grained control over how tax is applied to customers. It now supports the US tax system allowing you to have multiple tax rates, filtered by zip code ranges. It also allows you to specify whether you want your shipping rates to have tax removed or not. EU Users of the previous tax system have had their tax profile transferred over.
For stores using the tax profile, which adds tax onto the existing prices, the total tax amount displayed was calculated incorrectly. All prices charged to customers were correct, but the amount of tax displayed on the order screen was incorrect. This has been updated and the affected stores will be contacted.
For stores that are still using PayPal for personal accounts, when a customer views the order, if they haven't marked it as payment submitted, a link is now provided for them to pay for the order.
It is heavily recommended that you stop using this payment method and use PayPal for business accounts instead, as if there is an issue with PayPal, or the customer does not wish to pay, the order will be placed without it being paid for.
Beginning on the 13th of April, all feedback boosts will only effect the feedback score if the feedback boost has been in effect for less than a year. After a year the feedback boost will be removed as stores will have had an opportunity to develop feedback in that time.
When viewing a public WishList, there are now two buttons available to either copy or buy the Wishlist. Clicking on buy will copy the WishList and then take you to the magic buy page with the WishList selected to buy the parts.
The layout of the website has been improved for small mobile devices, making use of responsive techniques. Brick Owl is now considered mobile friendly by Google so it can maintain its search rankings in light of the recent Google update that penalises non-mobile-friendly sites.
Starting from April 8th, historical currency rates are stored. When you issue a refund for an order, commission will be recalculated using the historical exchange rate rather than the current exchange rate.
Unfortunately between April 8th and July 2nd, Brick Owl commission was incorrectly calculated for orders where the shipping was refunded. This has now been resolved, and all affected accounts have been updated.
You can now update your Wishlists based on an order you have placed at any time, just click on Update Wishlists from the more actions drop down on the order.
The magic wishlist buying tool has been updated so the "Needed Lots" count correctly takes account of the minimum quantity/condition/price. The unallocated lots on the left-hand side now also has counts so it's easier to see what still needs to be allocated.
The country and region lists have been updated to include Jersey and Guernsey separately, and also to separate Serbia Montenegro and separate countries. Many payment and shipping methods have been updated automatically, but you should still check your shipping and payment methods to make sure that they apply to the relevant countries that you intend them to.
If an order is placed using a quote, if the customer wishes to combine any future orders with that order, only the request a quote shipping method will be available.
The WishList magic page has been further improved. It is now faster, lots are reallocated more price efficiently when different stores are selected and deselected, the unallocated lots section has better tooltips and clicking now takes you straight to the item. Additionally, when viewing a cart in a store, there is now item and lot totals shown at the bottom.
Lots can now be reserved for specific users, so that only that user is able to purchase the lot. The setting is available from the advanced version of the inventory editing section.
Issue reports that are filed against stores are now visible here http://www.brickowl.com/mystore/orders/issue_reports . It will also show up in the numbers against your username on the top right of the page, and a link will appear there when there is an outstanding issue report.
When a catalog item needs to be split into multiple mold variations, stores that currently have the items listed, and choose to differentiate mold variations will receive an e-mail about the change.
For incomplete recent inventories, the inventory page has been updated to show the missing items based on the instructions. If these are new items, they can then be created by clicking the button and giving a name and colour.
From the WishList edit form, you can now multiply the quantity of items in your WishList, for example if you want to buy more than one of the parts in a set.
Your store subdomain can now be changed from the store settings page, URLs will be redirected accordingly. This can only be done a maximum of once a month.
In the order settings, you can now optionally choose to show BOIDs on the order details page. The store dashboard has also had some speed improvements.
Stripe integration has been improved, card security information is more reliably shown in the order view, now including address verification. Additionally if there are any issues, these are shown at the top of the order screen.
