As last years gift was a painting and anything for the home i.e. ornament/painting is quite a personal choice, for the fun factor (and I know I'm in the minority) I vote for the Emmet suit
@DagsBrick I would agree with the owl sculpture! Let's keep that in mind for next year, designing the product and gathering all parts in the UK can be time consuming.

Xmas update , After a week of non lego stuff , i am back . I think that the owl painting was top of our poll . So i have ordered an owl and some other parts to make a perch/tree . I have requested a commissioned oil on canvas from toysart , hopefully they can frame aswell . i have taken a badly posed composition with an old parrot i had i will send the owl/parts to deborah at toysart to see what she can create .
Update , I have emailed the artist the parrot photo i mean stragus's owl photo , ordered a grey owl to send to her for inspiration , now awaiting an ink drawing for our approval .
Update , Admins Xmas Present will be late as per tradition , green oil takes a longtime to dry , Once dry Deborah can apply the fine detail , here is a photo of her progress
update , i have the objet d'art , and am off to the picture framers , admin should have his prez by next week , i hope . i think an apt name would be THE STRAGUS , it sounds other worldly and dark as an abs moulded owl naturally is .
Merry Christmas , Admin's present is finished at the framers and in the post . A big thank you to all those who donated to the xmas fund .....JAZZABELL , DESIGN 7 BRICKS ,STRAGUS , DAGSBRICKS ,GERRIT@SUPERBRICKS ,EMMA @ EMS BITS N BOBS , STEENDORP , SILENTMODE , NOTEWORTHY , BRICKCOUNTER , ERIC MEESSCHAERT, HOLLIES BRICKS and TRACY MILLER . ( Apologies if i have missed out anyone .) Also a big thank you to Deborah at http://www.toysrart.co.uk/ for all her hard work . Apologies for the photo , it does not do the painting justice .
I got quite a surprise yesterday, a Lego box with fragile glass stickers on it. Thank you to all of you for arranging this, I've got it hung up in the dining room where my desk is now. The Admiral painting is in the lounge. This reminds me, it's been 18 months since I started working on Brick Owl, I'm still very pleased it actually worked out and there are lots of you using it happily. I will upload a picture when someone fixes the forum picture uploading…
PS I did make sure not to read this thread, until now so as not to spoil the surprise.

What do you think?
Here's a Painting version lol
That was fast, too. So what's your commission fee?

rather than the photo taken through an image edition software's fake paint filter...
I could also take better photos later today, I hadn't set up any lighting.
It appears the image was rescaled so it would fit her frame's aspect ratio. I would rather cut borders than rescale without preserving the ratio.
Eh well. I may like to criticize, but it's fine.
And I have no idea for the frame. Some traditional wood color frame?
I was going to say wood to match the brown maybe.
Thanks Polarbomber
Thanks for the update!

I'm sure the sun was out last week Stragus! ;-)
Does it really need a name anyway?
Also a big thank you to Deborah at http://www.toysrart.co.uk/ for all her hard work .
