Had an order for these today but couldn't find them. There appears to be 2 different types in set 60051. But I think there should only be 1 type. Anyone else got this set? Could you check please. If you've added it you might want to check your stock.
I think they are alternate versions of the same part. There should be only 4 buffers in the set (1 for each of the engines and 2 for the middle wagon).
They are indeed the alternate types (but seems to be missing their automated Match number) and UNFORTUNATLY admin is determined to have all alternates added automaticly to each set, even on sets where it is impossible certain molds exists. 64422 was produced during the early PF sets and has been replaced in 2011 by the 91994 buffers, yet by the fact they have this match the 64422 buffers have been added to most Train Sets since then. Same thing is happening with the 2871 decorative side: they have an automated match, and because of it, the RC type has been automaticly attached to every single 9V set and vice versa.
There are dozens of examples like this and it is the reason I will NEVER TRUST a BO inventory from a collectors point of view or for the purpose of part-outs, as not only it will cause errors during those part-outs and in the long run there will also be abuse from sellers using cheaper molds to finish up sets and sell those sets here. If a buyer will say: hey you didn't put in the right mold, then the seller can hide behind the BO inventories and say: these are KNOWN alternates, while in reality they are not :-(
The automated alternates are a serious misdoing IMHO
