Numbering Mini-Figures

What about numbering the Mini-Figs (from sets) - some are the same figure between sets - some are not - when the same figure by name appears in different sets in different costumes...

Am trying to sort them out, using name and set number - which is "OK" but seems it would be helpful if they were numbered as well, if so it seems daft to number them different from the other place, and they certainly can't claim © on numbers!
Brickset use the same letter/numbers don't they?

If not then example would be say they have hp011 then here it could HP-011, and lor023 could be LoR-023 (or LotR-023)

thoughts?

  • Hi Graham,

Does the minifigure taxonomy accomplish what you are talking about?

  • I don't think so..

I pulled one at random "Gandalf the Grey with hat and cape" = lic.mea.lor.2012.01

It would be much easier if it either preceded or succeeded the actual name and simplified!

so in this example it would be "Gandalf the Grey with hat and cape (lor.01)" rather than the current "Gandalf the Grey with hat and cape"

otherwise to get a number, it is having to open each fig and extracting the # ...
  • They are numbered by BOID at the moment, every minifigure has a BOID. I only intend to put real ID numbers in item titles, not made up ones,
  • Fair enough - I'll have to devise my own system for inventory purposes, I can't sell them yet anyways as I need to add a photo (with accessories) which I think I read in another thread that that is to come later?
