New Store to BrickOwl

Hello Everyone! I just uploaded my first batch to my new store. Excited to sell off my surplus LEGO. I have tens of thousands of parts to upload so it will be a slow go for awhile. Would love to get any advice from more experienced sellers. I am currently shooting to add 1000 parts a day to my store, so please come check in out. One question for the group, it is better to sell parts, mini figures or sets on this site? Thank you!

  • Welcome! Honestly - I've had a good mix of everything selling here. Different buyers will be making different kinds of orders. Sometimes I get the Technic builder, and sometimes it's the more "cutesy" kinds of orders (which I love!) which are tons of fig parts, utensils, animals etc... Sometimes it's the MOCer that's buying up a lot of bricks and building parts. The better the selection, the larger your customer base will be as there are many different types of builders
  • Welcome to Brick Owl! I'll echo @Emporiosa and say that the wider the range you have, the bigger the potential customer base. Alternatively I'm sure there are stores here who specialise in certain areas (Technic, vintage, etc), so that could also be a way to go. When I started I had my store closed for the first three months while I added inventory, got my head round shipping rates, and generally just got a feel for the site. I also scanned the forum, looking for topics that would help in setting things up. All useful things!
  • Welcome to the awesomeness that is Brickowl, @BrickWerks - we wish you and your store great success! If you have questions as you go, you'll find this forum to be SUPER friendly and helpful!! Your success is the success of all Brickowl sellers! :-)
  • Thanks for the advice I will continue to load parts to my inventory. Still looking for my first order. Right now I am loading up new parts. Any recommendation on new or used to concentrate on?
  • Again, I would think that's personal preference. I lean towards used, but that comes with the added workload of cleaning and sorting by hand whereas new (either broken down sets or pick a brick) can be uploaded almost immediately. I have a (very!) small quantity of new parts and some sets, both new and sealed as well as used and unboxed. Either way, the more you have, the better chance someone will find what they want in your store. If you only have a small selection people may go to other stores with a wider inventory. And don't worry - I'm sure you won't have to wait long for your first order!
