Coupon Code

Just been informed by a customer that they could not apply one of my regular coupon codes.
I have checked myself and the coupon works OK at my end.
I'd appreciate it if someone else could do a dummy run on it for me and let me know if it works for them.
(Obviously don't complete the transaction).
The code (10% off parts) is, BROWLICK

Just tested and I had the same problem as your customer, payment came up before any ability to type in coupon.

A coupon code would need to be entered in the cart rather than in checkout

I tried that @Lawrence it did not work.

I was able to do it no problem... added an item to my cart, viewed my cart, applied the coupon code - updated cart showed 10% off, worked like a dream (I think that's customer education - you apply at cart, not in checkout, as @lawrence noted).

to get their coupon to work they should go to their profile and click on coupons. then there should be a list of all the coupons they have, and by each one there will be a redeem button. That button will take them to your store. then they should go to their cart and order. It should work then.

Yes what Calibrick says works. Apparently I don't know what I'm doing. Could someone send me a coupon (for 0.01$) so I can see how it appears for a customer. Do user specific coupons act the same way?

HMM... it may just be his/her computer. The coupon does not work on my computer but works on my phone.

To clarify, user specific coupons are sent via email and shown during checkout. Coupon codes are not user specific and have to be manually entered on the cart. Coupon codes are not requested during checkout as this can cause cart abandonment when customers seek a code they don't already have.

So @Lawrence , just to be clear:
non user specific coupon codes need to be added on the cart before checkout
Whereas
user specific coupons appear on the cart at checkout to be "ticked" , ie. free shipping or percent discount offer?

Yes as @Lawrence and @Calibrick say, it is added at cart, not checkout. I expect this is where the customer er'd. It is not a person specific coupon.
