Cannot get Bricksync to run on my Mac

The following message comes up after entering the API keys etc:

“bricksync” cannot be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.

Can anyone help please?

Geoff

  • Try this: System preferences > Security & Privacy settings > choose "Open Anyways"
  • Hi Pikka, thanks but no longer works in OS Catalina - for me anyhow
  • I had no issues with this. Works fine for me.
  • You on OS Catalina Leopard37?. If so, no security events or warnings?
  • Got the following failure on trying to run Bricksync from within Mac App 'Terminal':

Dont know if anyone can help. I am not a coder just stumbling along on snippets from web searches!

  • Isn't it saying that you key is bad? Did you update your bricklink api keys or something? It's working for me perfectly on catalina. Also, you might want to delete the parts after "consumer key", but no idea
  • Yes I'm on catalina, but it is your api codes that are messed up. Renew on both sites and update your data file. If you got a new forced ip from your internet provider this happens.

    Tyson.
  • Hi Tyson, I only partly understand what you mean but I will pick my way through your advice. Your time is appreciated!
    Geoff
  • PS I had to disable the 'Gatekeeper' settings using Terminal to get as far as I did. presumably I did not hit a wrong key! Surprised you did not have to do the same thing!
    Geoff
  • @Geoffuz Was this an upgrade or a new installation? I did have to disable 'Gatekeeper' way back when, but only once, every upgrade since than has not required it. Sorry if I assumed this was only an upgrade.

    Tyson.
  • Something's incorrect about your BL API keys...

Make sure you registered for the API, and that you copied correctly the 4 tokens. This isn't your regular BL login information.
  • And maybe make sure you get the latest version?
