What is this Lego Figure

I have acquired this large figure which is marked The Lego group but cannot find anything like it anywhere. I would really likie to know what it is! Anyone have any ideas?

This looks very much like a Galidor alien...

Definitely Galidor, though looking through the sets, I couldn't find one with that particular head. It might be a mashup of a few figures.
