Renders Sometimes Less Than Accurate On Head Patterns

For example this head:

https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-setam-head-safety-stud-89782

The beard is not squared off on the bottom outside corners, rather they slant inwards.

Another example:

https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-yellow-minifigure-head-with-eyelashes-and-big-smile-safety-stud-93396

The right eyebrow should be raised slightly higher than the left eyebrow.

I mean it's possible the ones I have are misprints, but on both of those ones I have more than one so unless they just misprinted a LOT... mmm... yeah, better to look at an actual picture I think.

-edit-

Yeah, just found a picture of the snow boarder:
https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-snowboarder-set-8803-5

You can easily see the right eyebrow is raised higher, which isn't what the render looks like.

  • I agree re the renders, Anathema... they are beautiful to look at, but certainly at times are not an accurate depiction of what prints. A great example is https://www.brickowl.com/catalog/lego-dark-red-ant-with-decoration-62575, which today BO shows a picture for - the original LEGO-provided render makes it look as if the red is fully transparent (I had a VERY unhappy customer who apparently bought it off the pic, not realizing renders are not necessarily the same depiction as an actual photo - not at ALL her fault)...

On the plus side, in general nondecorated element renders are pretty accurate - which is a huge plus for all of us as sellers (pretty pictures on our storefronts <s>).
