Hi I have had to cancel an order. I completed the Refund page on Brickowl, does this mean the buyer is automatically refunded their money via Paypal too? Or do I need to do this manually via Paypal? Thanks in advance.
Normally yes, but you should have read the message after processing the refund as sometimes it can fail. You'll need to check on PayPal to make sure it's happened.
That's strange. I have had a few cancellations but in all cases I had to do the refund myself. Not so strange when you consider that BrickOwl doesn't have my Paypal password and (as far as I know) BrickOwl hasn't asked my permission to fully handle Paypal payments
I would assume it has to do with whether or not you setup the PayPal API for instant payment from your customers or not (I have, so my refunds are automatic). :-)
It’s in your store payment methods, there’s two integrations, and the personal/basic one where you only enter your email address doesn’t have any of the automated tools.
Thanks Lawrence, I hadn't even noticed that all this time I had been using the personal account option. Hopefully I have enabled the business one correctly. Guess Ill find out when an order comes through.
