I dream in LEGO, do you?

Two boys had 30 sets in the 80's and 90's and we have put those together with missing parts. Think of the genres, any and all, and we probably have these. We were just too busy working to take notice but putting together now for grandkids, we have now done it ALL!
From that, I have been dogged by building designs in my dreams...and just had to put to LEGO a few things including this Happy Place, a Southwest Mid Century Restaurant. There are more creations but am posting this now. So you know I am One Click Off, and since these pics have been able to add inverted slopes to the west windows and a Technic connector assembly to make sure the counter back strata wall stays on (!) I have all the windows and doors but these just photographed better without glass.
I have to give an acknowledgement to mfav (Mark) from BL for the pulley wheel that became the clear shelves in the rotating Sweets Carousel.
Yes, you are seeing a custom cigarette machine- it was from the days gone by...

  • WOW, these are fantastic, @One_Click_Off ! I particularly like the color scheme you rolled with (ahh, the days of black and orange) and the clever pendant lights!!!

Really, truly well done!!! I admire folks that can scratch build - I've always been adverse to trying, I'm one of those folks that loves to follow things step-by-step. I think it's a right brain/left brain thing.
  • Absolutly love these, what a great world you've created.
  • Thanks Calibrick and Pippyblocks -very kind of you! Now, how to make it Stop! Just kidding...I think.
...about the pendant lights- it's just this sort of thing where you wake up and find you were solving a problem you didn't know you had...Ahhh, vehicle roof hinges so you can use a jumper and attach antennas: to hang pendant lights---worry about stability later (and I did).
Happy building or enabling to All!
  • supercool and nicely done !!
  • Thanks, unbrickable, but now have put pressure on all the connection to not be One_Click_Off...
Woke up last week and was building a casino floor pit with all the tables...the new light orange was going up the sunken floor with stairs, like the Belagio in carpet, with tables for the roulette table, blackjack, and craps tables... the totally unnerving part- I don't gamble! Why, oh why, would I be putting this together in dreams to be approved by a casino "boss" with the glass elevator going up to the rooms????
...and now know how to do a roulette table in LEGO. Not what I want to be doing but cannot make it STOP!
  • I think a lot of us want to see this casino when it's done, @One_Click_Off! :-)
  • Is it terrible of me that I have ideas on minifigs of Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise as their Rain Man characters?...or maybe the entire Ocean's 11 cast...
    No! Quit it! Stop!
  • Wish BrickOwl was a place for MOC's...would love to see others! Have a Venice shorefront on the way...
  • Love these! Thank you for sharing them!
  • Fantastic - you have put a great deal of thought into them and it shows. Well done you :)
  • Ok, that is super cool!!!!! Thank you so much for sharing!!!!!
Share your idea for posting MOCs at brickowl.com. It could start simple as a forum section to centralize these great builds for viewing, and if there is enough interest in that area, could grow into a no-kidding MOC area. :-)
  • Don't know about dreaming, but I'm finding myself referring to things in LEGO colours.
"No, not that one, the medium lavender one".

    Wife "....."

    Me, "err, "
  • Good one, Matt @ WhiteHorseBricks, but let's go one further: do you measure things in stud dimensions?
btw, I wouldn't wish the dreaming thing on anyone- the ideas that generate...then percolate...then calculate- Uggghh!
Thanks to all above...and ideas- seems I over-communicate so I'll leave the quest for forum section direction to everyone else.
