Sales category for "supplies"?

Any chance you would consider adding a category for shipping supplies (padded envelopes, small ziploks etc)
and
Storage solutions

Could be a side earner for some as well as helping others get shipping supplies, I am currently looking for bulk purchase of these items.
And if I could get Really Useful to get me sent unbroken trays, I could bulk buy those too…

Just a thought…

  • Just to clarify, are you talking about Lego padded envelopes?
  • No, "Jiffy" "Aircraft" and other brands - bubble mailers, and anything else to do with packing and shipping orders really - it may not be greatly used, however perhaps someone comes across a great price in bulk, too much for them but could sell some on to make it worthwhile…

  • Ah, I'm afraid we only list Legoish items.
  • "Legoish items". LOL. Is that like truthiness? How "Legoish" does something have to be to be listable here on BrickOwl?

You could list BrickArms, for example...

Hopefully the line gets drawn there and COBI, etc. do not get in.
  • I haven't defined my line, but COBI / Megabloks wouldn't be okay with me.
  • What about chromed or painted parts?
  • I'll deal with that bridge when I come to it.
  • Consider this an opportunity for BrickOwl to distinguish itself from BrickLink. BrickLink allows many non-LEGO items to be listed there for sale. Such as BrickArms, chromed/painted parts and "custom" parts from a seller in Taiwan whose shop does not contain one single LEGO item. Some of these listings bring controversy and disrepute upon BrickLink.

I think it would help BrickOwl stand out and distinguish itself if it could claim to be more pure by allowing only genuine LEGO items to be sold here. In fact, such a purist policy would kill two birds with one stone. First, it would keep non-LEGO off the site and BrickOwl away from the very subjective slippery slope of what is or is not sufficiently "Legoish". And second, it would keep out illegal infringing listings of "custom" minifigures and sets of licensed themes such as Star Wars, Batman and Disney from sellers who obviously do not have a license or permission from the trademark owners to sell such items.

Keep it pure. Keep it clean. Keep it legal. Doing so will be very positive for BrickOwl's reputation, marketability and competitiveness.

+1 - that was one of my major issues there - and also as mentioned previously something TLG are "not happy about".

Chroming parts that are sold by TLG (as in chrome-gold 3001 and MANY others) is forgery plane and simple.

As much as BrickArms (and others) may be "cool" to some, they are not LEGO product, visitors may well think they are, which is wrong

I particularly like your last sentence, Thor :) !

I don't really see how shipping materials would give a problem, but no worries…

PLEASE keep BrickOwl LEGO only - the only "custom" items should be (IMHO) custom sets built with LEGO parts (and/or instructions for same)

Please no LEGO (ish) stuff :O
