Alternate Picture does not show Cropping Function

Hello,
When I add an alternate Picture (e.g. second side of a stickered part) the side does not give me a preview with the cropping function. I always upload the image "blind".

That's how it seems to have been set up. I'd like a cropping function too, especially as some items are wider than they are tall and I've had alternate pictures accepted where bits are missing from one side!
