Rotating Joint for Kids' Science Fair Project

Good morning, everyone. I am working with my boys on creating the LEGO Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and wanted to ask your advice. The project can be found here: https://ideas.lego.com/projects/5c3aec53-00d2-40a2-be73-9e2db09da86f

We will build the LHC atop a 48x48-peg grey board. While the four individual experiments line up and snap into pegs on each of the four sides, the blue tunnel parts (Dipoles) are situation at 45 degree angles and do not snap into the pegs.

What would you do to secure them to the LEGO base board? Is there a joint piece that exists that snaps into the top of the LEGO base board and the bottom of the blue tunnel part with a ball joint sandwiched in between, allowing the rotation of the blue tunnel part to bridge the gaps between experiments?

I might be explaining it wrong, but please check the schematic to see what I mean. I just want to ensure the blue tunnel part is firmly secured to the base board.

Thanks so much for your advice.
