Markup of quotes in forum

Can the quotes be a bit more visually different from normal text? I sometimes miss that something is a quote.

Maybe add quotation marks, or make quotes a different color or italicize the text.

  • Quotes are easily distinguished. Some I have noticed do not contain the blue background. I am not sure if some people are doing them wrong or not. Here is my quoting your post. I think it is visually appealing and does not need to be changed.

Sometimes it doesn't get the blue background, but the same post in a different browser will. I wonder if it's a problem with how certain browsers parse the CSS.

  • @Minifigman are you speaking about you trying to quote on this post:

This thread's quoting is working properly on all 3 of my browsers which are all up to date. Chrome, FF, and IE. None of them worked with your quote on that link.

I think maybe when you tried quoting a portion of "the Hellmouth" text and not the post in its entirety you may have deleted a portion of the quoting code which made it regular text? Or maybe it is BO issue if a person does not quote an entire post by someone there is no blue background?

    Lets try it:

EDIT: seems to work well for me.
  • I see it in this thread, but in another thread where I quoted someone, there was no line and no background. I'll try to see what the cause was.
  • @MinifigMan I don't know. If you go look at it now I just did it and it works on my end???

@Admin any causes for this or is this user error when quoting?

  • Mac/Safari...

Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn't - no rhyme or reason I can tell!
