a mad question

right been buying for a while and thought i had worked out most things ,but what is the point listing items for sale with extra amount ie .048 now at 1st i thought it was 48p but no its 5p so why not just list at 5p save going looking else where ? and the other thing i came across is not enough lots brought so is this not enough of 1 item? or it it for bulk buying?

  • The odd amounts could be some stores listing in another currency (dollars or euros) on BL and then it being converted to sterling here.
  • Buy one for 5p, buy 10 for 48p. It's like fuel at the petrol station, always priced in fractions and the cost is rounded up to the nearest penny.

It happens with price reductions. If it's originally 0.17 and I mark it for a 10% reduction it goes to 0.153.
Items will end up with tiny fractions showing in the price whenever a seller confirms a percentage reduction unless the reduction leaves an even figure.
