Free Postage

Some times I feel that a free postage option (in the coupon page) will be a really good promotional tool, but of course, it's not going to be cost effective on small orders.

Would it be far more useful to offer the service with personally selected criteria such as shipping locations and order values?
If this is possible, then how?

Since free shipping is an option when creating a coupon, does BO allow you to fill out nothing but that and save the coupon? (I haven't tried it, just wondering!).

Or setup the coupon with 0% savings but check off free shipping box?

I've only set it up for one person. A friend of my wife. 20% off and free shipping but she hasn't used it yet. She did make an order but didn't apply the coupon on the grounds that the order was small.
The free postage is in place because she picks up the order from our house.
I want to encourage bigger orders and so offer a free shipping option to local (UK) orders over a certain threshold (£10) and particular shipping methods.

Ahhh I get it (sorry, I misunderstood your original post). That's a good idea, a simple field that constrains the coupon's applicability based on order value and/or country. I'll +1 this.
