Shopping Carts

A couple of suggestions.

1. Automatically empty abandoned carts after 24 or 48 hours, and then add a "Save Open Carts for Later" button for people who really want to spend the time to create epic, multiple-day orders.

2. Add an "Empty All Carts" button to the Open Carts page.

Both of these suggestions would help with the Wishlist Buy function. Sometimes, I just throw together a wanted list, select all stores, and click Add to Carts just to click through the stores and see how close each store works out. Then I forget and have a dozen open carts out there for days. And of course, to empty them, I have to click through each store and click Empty Cart over and over again.

Also, my store has 7 open carts at the moment. I imagine that is a result of others doing similar wishlist window shopping.

p.s. I can almost get a complete Holiday Train set using the Wishlist Buy feature. Pretty sweet.

  • Suggestion 1. I would prefer this not happen. It is frustrating to shop for things (because it takes time to figure out what you need) and come back to find your cart empty AND not remember what store you found most of those items in.

There is currently a time limit for the carts to empty but a reminder message is sent to the cart holder before it empties.

I would prefer to not have to chance to accidentally empty all my potential customers' carts.

  • Yeah I would that dislike that too, both as a buyer and a seller. I simply vote to remove the open cart listing on the dashboard as it doesn't really say anything regarding potential buyers.
  • I like it there. How about a toggle for those seller that allows them to hide shopping carts that are active.

I like to know what activity is happening in my store.

I was unaware of that. What is the time limit? I just discovered a cart I had forgotten about. It had to be at least a week old.

I don't know if I'm misunderstanding you here, but my suggestion was to have an "Empty All Carts" button for buyers, not for sellers.
  • I was also unaware of any time limit on carts. I have stuff in carts for weeks sometimes before I place an order. I really like this, too. It means I can tinker with orders now and then when I'm thinking about it instead of having to keep all that info somewhere else (pdf printouts, handwritten notes, my head) and then pull it all together to place the order. It really helps me be a more intelligent buyer.
  • There is a time limit of 60 days, but there is no reminder, I created that yesterday. That's 60 days since it was last updated, not created. I've added having an empty all carts button to the list.
