API POST request using Postman

Hi All,

I'm not able to update my inventory to reflect a change in the external lot number. I'm getting a 403 error. Here is the request:

https://api.brickowl.com/v1/inventory/update?key=My Brick Owl key&lot_id=10782703&external_id=12345

With a POST request the arguments would need to be in the body as opposed to the URL

You may want to see if you can find an example online of how to submit a POST request using postman as it’s most likely an argument issue

Sorry to keep bugging you! I've successfully made updates to my_cost, personal_note, etc., but I can't update external_id for some reason. Thoughts?

I receive this error: 400 Invalid external ID.

That happens you're trying to update by external ID but the id you've submitted doesn't match any items, you may want to double check your paramters

Thanks for the reply! I'm not using the external_id as a match field, but using lot_id. Also, using the lot_id I'm able to update other fields like my_cost, etc. So it seems that the issue is with the external_id.

You may want to double check the documentation on the endpoint you’re using for the relevant arguements
