Automatic Refund?

I just stumbled upon a seller that has a load of recent negatives for non delivery (or contact).

Immediately I think "something" must have happened (illness/hospital etc).

This is why I am very cautious about leaving negative feedback. There have been occaisions elsewhere, when a seller was struck off for negatives, only later was it discovered why - in one case it was due to a heart attack another a car accident.

"Stuff Happens" SO how about an automated refund due to lack of response (ie not marking the order as "processing"/"processed" etc) to be triggered after a resonable length of time?

It would save an otherwise good seller, AND it would pacify (somewhat) the buyer - perhaps along with an automated message of apology?

Thoughts?

  • I think that might catch out some lazy sellers who sent the order but couldn't be bothered to update the system? Could be a good game seeking those out, you'd get terrible service, might get your order eventually and then stand a chance of getting it for free... Hmmm what is a reasonable amount of time for a buyer to wait for a response only to find out he isn't getting his order and has to source it again? I get the suggestion but I think the buyer still should have a right to leave his choice of feedback even if he gets refunded.

  • I think my response there Robert, would be "serves 'em right"!! :O

Lazy seller = "possibly" (likely?) poor service (or worse)

Reasonable time - suggest 1 week?

How many sellers don't update status? Especially here it would get really confusing, as you would have a (possibly) huge number of open orders with reminders at top every time you look at the site!
