Hi folks! If you are interested in this, please up-vote this suggestion on the forum list screen.
I've noticed under the Buy Tab of any Catalog Item, at least recently, only some show a column for Cost + Shipping , and some items instead show a red/green circle to show the cost+shipping as an additional on-demand display option (I think these are sets, at a guess). This latter case is NOT as a column, but rather an extra line under the description.
Personally, I am not fan of this latter case (just my personal, super-respectful opinion from a buying perspective).
Also, I do not recall ever being able to sort on the Cost+Shipping Column. I think this is absolutely essential.
As a buyer, I always want be able to see the Cost+Shipping in a SORTABLE column in between the PRICE and the STORE columns. For everything (part, set, gear, etc.). That is the column that points me to the stores I want to really check out and likely buy this from. For stores that are quote only, if this was reasonable to implement and many wanted it, perhaps they would always pop on the top so they are then not adversely affected - no store should be punished for listing specific items (or their entire store) as quote only. There are great reasons to quote only items, particularly those bigger heavier sets! :-)
While not an issue if looking for something a bit more unusual and only a handful of sellers carry (your eye can jump around enough to figure it out), this is incredibly difficult on anything less rare as a buyer. Having this option would make the buying experience a lot easier, as most of us start with (1) what we want; (2) who has it; (3) who has it reasonably-priced; and (4) if the store has good feedback, that leads to whipping out the wallet. :-)
I think this is great from a seller perspective, also! For example, a store's list prices may be higher (or even a LOT higher) than others, but that store's shipping costs may be incredibly reasonable in comparison to others. If a buyer is sorting Cost+Shipping, that store would then sort far higher on the list than if a buyer looked only at item price.
Thoughts, folks? Or is there a good reason we've never done this or are transitioning to the on-demand shipping cost view that I haven't considered as a buyer and a seller? Please feel free to tell me if this is a completely idiotic idea and why, I'm totally open-minded!. ;)

Unfortunately it's not possible to sort by price plus shipping as it's calculated on the fly and can be very slow when there's thousands of listings
