Hi,
I'm new here, but one of the many imports from BL. I am trying to learn the ropes a bit and get a handle on this new way of figuring shipping (not the best on the computer). I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a standard shipping method based on weight (or $), but have the ability to individually select certain items that are not covered by the shippping method even if they meet the weight/dollar requirements.
I am not going to have too many things that aren't going to fit the standard, and instead of trying to figure out a more complex way of covering the shipping on these, this would be a more simple approach.
If a buyer adds one of these items, the cart could say something like. Item xxxxx is not included in the shipping cost of your order which will ship at $xx. Remove this item from your order or request a shipping quote to add it to your current order.
And then in the description on the actual item it can say. Shipping cost not set for this item. Please request a shipping quote.
As I get more comfortable with the system, I can then look for a way to include these into my shipping calculations.

What kind of items do you particularly want to exclude from shipping methods?
Don't enter the exact dimensions though, reduced them to account for packaging.
Thanks!
Similar to this thread, I am selling a used set #10175 and I don't have the box. I know that the dimensions without the box will now fit under my international small parcel shipping rule of "sum of all sides <90cm" even though with the box it's over. Is there anyway I can modify the dimensions of an item for my store only to better align it with my shipping options?
