Why no feed back?

I am a bit concerned with the lack of feed back I am receiving. I now that it is obviously up to customers if they want to leave it or not. Do you think they are not happy with my items?? Does any one else experience this? I have had over 50 orders but only 12 feed back. One customer has returned several times so they must obviously be happy with items postage etc. Comments would be appreciated.

  • I get about 75% response rate on Bricklink, but only about 20% on here, most orders don't get marked as received, let alone FB left.
  • Same. Seems normal here.
  • Oh thats ok then - well its not ok but if people dont want to leave fb there is very little we can do. It would help though if they did.
I am going to sell on Brick link too soon - its very complicated though!! ~X(
  • Yes, I've seen the same. It's just not a thing on here, unfortunately. :-)
  • Thats a real pity - I always leave feed back - i think its important when determining if I want to buy from a seller!
  • I've also found it's getting to be the other way round on eBay, where I'm generally a buyer. Sellers, particularly those who are Stores, quite often don't leave feedback.
  • Yeah it's not you, people just don't leave feedback here. But that's cool as over time you'll slowly build it up. Keep leaving it though as it's the right thing to do. It's a bit like Amazon, you just don't get feedback there either.
  • thanks - thought it was me lol. Yes I always leave feed back for my customers and as I say its up to them if they leave it for me :-)
  • Unfortunately customers seem not communicative in general over here, often they don't mark orders as received, don't say thanks when they received a second shipment of a missing part, and - unfortunately - in some cases they don't even send payment. It's the only drawback to BrickOwl as far as I'm concerned.
Let's all leave feedback anyway even when we don't receive, remember that feedback is not a competition or a gift to the person it is about, but a gift to the community at large. It provides some info about a party that's useful for other members. I try to do it for all orders that are marked "received".
  • My rule from day one (note, I only use instant checkout, only ship to verified PayPal addresses, and only ship with tracking since it's free via PayPal): I leave feedback for the customer the second I ship. As far as I'm concerned, they've done their part - they paid me! :-) I may regret that with some order down the road, but really on the whole, it's worked out very well for me.

My feedback rate is similar to everyone else's it looks like... out of 143 orders to-date (I only opened in early May and was closed 2 weeks since opening due to illness), I've received 22 feedback. It just doesn't seem to be a thing on here. But it's building slowly (and what feedback that is left is really super nice!).
  • Teup and Calibrick totally agree with both of you. Maybe something could be started where you can gain points when feedback is left (for customers I mean) - maybe it would entice people to leave feedback good or bad. Thank fully I am happy with all feedback I have had.
  • Now that's an interesting thought to spur interaction, Kath... similar in principle to points for contributing to the catalog? But instead, contributing to the informed reviews of buyers and sellers? If so, I think that's an interesting idea. Without much thought, I love it - but do wonder if there could be an unintended consequences? (I can't think of any off the top of my head, but it's always a question worth asking when talking system requirements).
  • Isn't this what a coupon is for... Post a notice on your shop that if feedback is received, a coupon will be sent.

    Tyson.

I have done this in the past. I really don't think you should effectively have to pay people to tick a box to say they have recurved their order and that all is well.
  • I give out coupons to people who buy from me more than once. Feedback or no. So I guess some people I'm paying to not respond...

    In all honesty: pointless...
I've tried (in the early days) by adding notes, hoping it would trigger buyers to leave FB (or at least change the order status to 'received'), offering coupons after feedback, I simply gave up...

I really don't know what makes the difference, I have a whopping +82% FB return rate on BL (well, actually not 'return', as I only leave FB after receiving one at BL) compared to a near 36% return rate on BO (while I always leave FB right away here).
There is this unexplainable difference, it's just like that, nothing @WESTIEKATH to worry about, just the way it is, as long buyers don't complain (in large amounts/on frequent bases) all is 'good' ;-)

    cheers, Eric
  • Well thank you all for your feedback :)) :)) :)
I think we all have to accept some people do and some people don't - it is what it is. I for one will always leave feedback both as seller and as a buyer - I am sure many of us do
    :D

Haha, not surprising. Even to get buyers to mark their orders as "payment submitted" with offsite payment methods is already a huge deal. Takes CAPS LOCK and then still some will not do it. Seems alot of buyers just want to get their parts and get out of here :)
  • My feedback response rate on Bricklink is much higher that on here (about 60% more off top of my head) I've found for me on here 1 in 4 customers leave feedback. I leave feedback as soon as someone has paid. The buyer has done their bit and to me it's not a competition. I think it's very rare that a buyer will hold posting feedback for a malicious reason so therefor I have no reason to hold theirs.
  • For the most part, our customers don't come back to the site until they need something. If that window of time is long, I guess feedback for an order 2 months prior is not on their mind.
My feedback was dire. Then I offered the coupon incentive - though I stress - it's for ANY feedback. I don't want to be bribing for good comments. I place a small sticker on the invoice explaining the feedback discount. Anyway, this method has worked for me but not in a major way.
I give feedback as soon as the order is completed. I trust my customer service skills and my processes.
  • Yeah, I've given up on the feedback. I tried the coupon thing and always leave feedback asap (usually before the order ships)...nothing seems to matter. I figure BO is just a different type of buyer, folks don't realize a quotation mark = leave feedback, or the BO site is so well done that buyers don't even realize they are buying from individual stores and think they are buying from BO directly...who knows.
  • I send a message to my customers every six months that I hope everything was satisfying and asking for a short feedback. This method brings me between 10-15% more feedback.
  • Stores as often as not leave me feedback thanking me for shopping well before my package has arrived, so I usually leave feedback as soon as I mark my package as received
  • I leave feedback as soon as I have packed the order. Customers are marking their orders as rec'd but not leaving feedback but some are returning customers so the items must be fine in their eyes!!
  • I've hand delivered orders before and still not had them marked as recieved...
