Reduce Auth for Refund on CC Order

Just had my first credit card pre-authed order where I was short a piece. I used the refund function, which reduced order total. But when I marked it shipped it charged the full original amount to the buyer. Can you add to the to-do list to adjust the total when a refund is processed prior to the transaction being confirmed? This will be more buyer friendly. Thanks!

  • how do you communicate this with the buyer if he has pre-paid? e.g. if I order from you, pay and then find you are not going to supply a part that might be critical to my order... I may wish to cancel the whole order instead of pay shipping for a short order.
  • In our case a customer placed a large order and we wished to give them a discount so a workaround to this issue is definitely needed.
  • Just to clarify, you can manually do refunds via stripe after the auth. But I will improve the system by reducing the auth amount if a refund has been processed.
