  • It is weird. I added two minifigures to my cart from your store. According to your delivery terms, the shipping would be "0g - 80g EUR 5.65" as parcel. But the only option at checkout is "request quote". Do you have a high "package adjustment" or something?
  • Or maybe the dimensions of these specific minifigs are missing. If so the system choose the "largest" shipping costs which are available.
  • Sorry for the slow reply working over bank holiday :-(
Pherly - i do apologise for that - i am new to this and I dont understand what a high package adjustment means - sorry to be stupid :-(. I certainly do not want to charge anywhere near what the shipping is coming up - unless people want them sent by registered post!!
    Please advise
  • It's a semi-regular occurrence with minifigs and other parts when dimensions are missing. The system defaults to a larger size. I just refund the customers the difference before I ship using the BO interface on the order details page, and let them know in the note field that there's been a shipping fix.
  • Oh, I also leave a public note with the correct shipping on all items that haven't had dimensions submitted, so it's clear to buyers there's a size issue. I try and submit dimensions for all my parts, so BO and my store look more professional, but I'm a bit behind with minifigs :(
  • Thank you TheSkirrid will leave notes on all my mini figs - hope customers understand i am not charging ridiculous amounts for P & P - thanks
  • Hello,

Could you give an example of an item in your store with "incorrect" shipping so that we can look into this for you?
  • Hi Lawrence - the following are examples of shipping costs more than I want them to be.LEGO Clay Bot (Claybot) (70315) Minifigure, LEGO Emperor Chang Wu with Cape Minifigure, LEGO Dr. Charles Lightning with Backpack Minifigure, LEGO Turtle Lair Leonardo Minifigure, LEGO Evil Robot Minifigure, LEGO Samantha Rhodes Diver Minifigure
Any help or advice you could offer would be great.
    many thanks
  • @WESTIEKATH Simply submit the dimensions into the BO database and your problem is solved.
You can submit 2 different dimensions: one being the 'assembeld' dimensions of a minifig, now if you don't wanna build the fig just for the sake of taking it's dimensions, you can use option two: submit the 'unassembeld' (aka packing) dimension for each (bagged dimension). To do so, just go to the catalogentry, use the 'edit' function, scroll below and enter the dimensions (+weight if needed ) and submit. If all sellers contribute and take such actions on items with 'unknown' dimensions, then it will smoothen the path for correctly calculated autocheckouts for all buyers.
  • Thanks so much Robernat - will have a go - thanks for help
  • @WESTIEKATH As a sidenote, there are missing dimensions all over the database, if you browse your 'inventory' you have the option to check which items have missing details in regards to dimensions and weights (other details as well, but they are not important for autocheckout). You can subselect figs or parts or anything and focus on what seems important for your own store to submit sizewise. The more you do, the better for yourself, so it's a matter of finding a balance between operating your store and filling details in the BO database to improve the autocheckout by your buyers (which will obviously also help other sellers).

    Cheers, Eric

Thanks Eric - its so good when the pros offer help and guidance. Thanks
  • @WESTIEKATH You're welcome :-)
And don't worry to much about it, when buyers hasitate, they'll request a quote, if they don't hasitate and place an order, just be honest and refund the difference as @TheSkirrid says (goes quite easely from within the order) and you'll be fine: buyers will appreciate and you'll have returning customers because of it, as they will trust you.

And if it's any comfort: I have dozens of things myself with 'no dimensions', so I'm certainly not perfect either, like I said, it's a matter of finding a balance and setting priorities :-)
