UK weather delays

I am sure most in the UK are aware of the weather at present so there will sadly be delays, from out side we can not get to our storage unit today (or at least as I type this) and post office we use shut and collections limited at others so please before you send messages to sellers in UK asking how, why and when your order will go out keep this in mind.
For those not in Canada, parts of Europe and other countries that cope well with worse snow, please please please send some people over to teach out lot how to do it.
But for those having a snow day, enjoy the extra building time.

  • We get an inch of snow and the country comes to a stand still lol
  • Just shoveled my driveway (and will have to again over the weekend), cleared about 8 inches of that white cr*p. Our home is on a corner, at the lowest part of the street, and the wind likes to hoard quite a bit of flakes on our property. Roads are pretty bad, with partly melted snow frozen over and now covered with a fresh blanket. Luckily we are used to this, so people (mostly) adjust their driving. Temperatures are not so bad - around -10C (with wind chill it is about -18C). Lookimg forward to the spring though...

    Niek.
  • Had to abandon my car and hoof it home from work yesterday. Lost a day sending out orders but trekking to town to the Post Office tomorrow morning, assuming it's open.
  • Vary's by person and area, for me I simply can not walk on ice due to back injury so was pretty much stuck home and all my stock is at a storage unit, it was driving me crazy! But yep as a rule some parts of the UK are a bit of a joke at times. Can't wait to get caught up over next few days, hate being behind no mater what the issue is and still a little shocked at just how busy it has been on this site.

Was not a inch everywhere, I made a similar comment to a friend and got some nice photos and less nice comments of the snow where he was stuck.
  • We had 8" but drifts up to 3'. Had to climb out a window to dig to the front door.

(Much sniggering from my Scandinavian friends on Facebook)

I have been in Slovakia in deep snow a good few times now, everything running as normal. But despite the deep snow it felt less damp and icy as we do here. Just hope all the staff turn up at our post office Monday, its cleared enough here now that there is no excuse as even I will be able to get out despite injury today.
  • Oops didnt mean to offend anyone - here we didnt have an inch but we still came to a stand still :))

No offence here, you have to try much much harder to do that lol.
