Canada Post shipping methods: How to manage it?

With the rates for Canada post varying so greatly based on the send/receive postal codes, how do other Canadian sellers set up their shipping tables? And the 2cm thickness threshold for letter vs package then doubles the number of options. Right now I'm doing "request a quote" on all orders. Is it worth setting up two separate tables by province? Is there an algorithm?

  • Check out prepaid shipping boxes for across Canada. Makes it one rate for everywhere.

    Tyson.
  • Unfortunately, they haven’t rolled out the prepaid shipping boxes for everywhere yet. The closest location to me is almost an hour drive away. I would LOVE to see them at my local post office.
  • I wish they were available online as one of the post office locations that they are available at here in Edmonton (there are only 3 in the Edmonton area) is constantly out.
  • They have recently jacked the price up and taken away the discount for small businesses on them, so they must be popular.
  • I have just looked up 3 shipping quotes, and ALL recommended the padded flat rate xpresspost AND had an option to order online with free delivery. I have ordered one (since I have to pay for it in advance) to experiment with the process. I think this is a change that has happened in just the last few days, since I didn't get the option before.
