What does the calculated amount of parts in an inventory of a set include?

Hello,

I just need a short explanation about the calculated amount of parts in an inventory.
If you go to the set 70614 you can find the following information under the tab "inventory":
"This is the parts inventory for the Lightning Jet Set 70614. It contains 857 parts including 6 minifigures."
What is included in the 857 parts? If I compare it with BrickLink theres a difference. I will go through the whole inventory to identify the differences and revise the inventory.
Anyhow it would be interesting to understand the calculation of the 857 parts.

Any explanation is very appreciated.

That was due to the stickered parts being included in the count, these are now no longer included.

I would assume this is because stickered parts are treated as alternates (if we're filling in the inventory properly showing the partnering between a stickered item and its unstickered counterpart in the inventory), is that correct?
