Metallic vs Chrome Silver

Seriously. This shouldn't probably even be a question, so I apologize that it's a dumb one. But what's the difference between chrome silver and metallic silver? Because then we also have flat silver. I thought, when my choices were limited to metallic silver and flat silver, that this was an easy one. Can anyone put this into words for me? Much appreciated.

    Chrome is what it sounds like -- a highly reflective, polished silver surface.

    Chrome is shiny and reflective [think Harley Davidson shiny], metallic silver is painted silver, and flat silver is a metallic swirled ABS dye, so the plastic itself is silver[ish]. Check Brickset's colour page, and Ryan Howerters Flikr if you need more visual help.
