Sales Tax Profiles Question

I'm in the process of getting legally organized as a business and applied for my sales tax permit from the State of Texas today. Which leaves me with a bunch of questions about the Sales Tax Profiles.

How do sales tax profiles stack? I'm in Texas, and there is a 6.25% state sales tax, and also a 0.50% county sales tax. So for orders from some ZIP codes, I need to collect 6.25% and for others I need to collect half a percent more.

Can I do this by having the 6.75% ZIP codes on two lists (one for 6.25% and the other for 0.50%) so that a total tax of 6.75% will be applied? Or do I need to stop the ZIP range when I get to a ZIP code in my county, then set up another range (often of only 1 ZIP) for the in-county rate?

How have other Texas sellers handled this issue?

Insights appreciated!
