Color Names

I didn't see this discussed yet. I believe that the color names that are unique to BL should be changed. This will be somewhat subjective but I would suggest using as close to the real Lego names as possible. For example, "Dark Bluish Gray" is a BL construct. The real Lego name is "Dark Stone Gray", and I think that would be fine for BO customers. If the BL color name is different than Lego's name, but came from Peeron, I think its okay such as "Dark Pink" vs. Lego's "Bright Purple". I think its also okay to use comon words like "Blue" that would never be legally owned by anyone (rather than changing it to "Bright Blue").

I've noticed already the usage of "Dark Nougat" (which I thought was TLG's name for one of the flesh tones) "Dark Royal Blue" (not blue or dark blue?), "Pearlescent", and "Warm Yellowish Orange". I don't know these colors.

However it might also do to change the Modulex colors from being prefixed with Mx if that is indeed a BL IP.

Yes good idea. In my dealings with both order listing and inventory listing here I've noticed however that the rendering of the colors is sometimes off. It has happened that parts in light stone gray and white almost seem the same color, as well as the colors yellow brick (tan) and white. I've contacted Lawrence about these issues whenever I see them, so no biggie really. My only concern is that when the color names change it should be obvious to what color is referred to. Maybe include a color chart somewhere with a clear listing of lego colors, BO colors, even BL colors and what their relation is to each other.

Well you could still add something to it and prove that my question was not entirely stupid: a small rectangle actually displaying the color. That way we can see the color without having to click through.

Would it be possible to access this list of colour via an API or something? I would like to add them to Project Swapfig for when parts are added.
