Over 20,000 bricks and still not enough! (for custom building)
I really would like to build so many things and keep running into situations where I don't have enough of the right kind of bricks, I wonder how many bricks the prolific builders out there have in their collection. I've seen stories and videos of some architect types and huge enthusiasts who have upwards of 250,000 bricks to build with but can't imagine how that wouldn't cost a small fortune - not just in bricks but space & storage.
I got a number of tool storage bins and plastic containers and it's about 5-10% of the cost. I have a spare room in my house and estimate I could hold another 60,000 or so pieces with reasonably easy access. My current 20,000+ bricks cost me about $1,500. I don't mind spending the money but as I keep getting bricks from various sources I never have enough of certain bricks and keep needing to get more & more of them, and some of them are either hard to find large numbers of or cost quite a bit per brick!
This is going to take many months to gather what I need.
