Hi all,

In general I think I have a suggestion for (all) marketplace sites (like this one).....,

Wouldn't it be an Idea to sent out a monthly newsletter about what is going on with the site/market...., (not talking about new Sets etc., but site/trading related) this is one off the things I greatly miss on other sites..., (BL).

Everything that goes on you have to (actively) read on the forum, small links etc., ...

Since we (as stores) pay a commission, informing us on a regular basis might be a good idea?
(So we know that if we read the emailed newsletter we are up to date again till the next issue arrives anyway...:) ).

I realize putting a newsletter together is yet another task/project, but I am very willing to contribute/participate from my end.

I guess the announcements thread is what you are looking for? The really important stuff is posted to site updates by Lawrence, all the other forum stuff is either people asking questions and being answered, people posting bugs and getting them fixed (which is communicated on the site updates thread) or asking new features and having those implemented (again listed on the site updates thread). So basically that thread covers everything really important that you need to know.

I realize that, but brings me back to the point made that I proactive (as a paying seller) have to read the (entire) forum to be up to date with all that goes on...., just saying, I think the admin (and staff, volunteer etc) would know what I need to know and could tell me... (by newsletter).

But strange I need to read about the BL ToS adjustments (Limiting data) on BO?
+ Splash page can't be updated + Take over + etc. etc.....

True, but that says more about BL than BO in my opinion. The forum here on BO also shows you the new threads and the new messages in them. So every time you login it's only a small amount to read. Again the really important stuff is in the site updates thread.

indeed it does, that's why I suggested it..., looks to me like BO has a lot going for it and this might be a chance to stay ahead of the competition? As you might guess, I do read the Forums (else I would have found BO) but still just a suggestion...

There was actually a kind of Newsletter sent once in July about what's new at BO (PayPal payments, shipping options, etc.). I found it very informative and useful. IMHO it's a good idea to continue such a newsletter once a month or so - for that users who wish to participate.

I think some sort of newsletter would be beneficial to both sellers and buyers, separate newsletters possibly, covering different topics, new stores, popular stores, special offers, rare items, new releases e.t.c e.t.c. for the buyers newsletter for example.

Anything I can do to assist in the development of the site I am willing to participate in in any way I can.

I liked the newsletter too, I don't have much to shout about at the moment, just small incremental developments as opposed to big features. If you want to know what's being worked on, take a look at the announcement thread once in a while.
