Download item pictures?

I use a custom "packing list" to go with each shipment. On BL, I am able to pull small images of items so my packing list shows the ordered items with 10 icons (and a small bit of info) on a row. Saves a small forest and looks pretty. Something like this:

Is there a way to download pictures for items? I checked the API in the help section, but aside from the comment to "contact us" when you want to use the catalog API, there doesn't seem to be a way to download a picture. For obvious reasons I don't want to use any pictures from BL for BO orders.

Any ideas?

I haven't asked for catalog access yet but when I used the wishlist feature I saw I was able to use the design ID's to get this kind of thing using other sites' APIs. It probably makes for a slower process but unless you need to print hundreds of pick sheets a day for orders that might offer you a decent stop-gap.
