Hi Jason,
Mappings of external ID's don't generate catalog points (unfortunatly enough).

I personally explore my own Bricksync logs on regular base to map items that are not syncing, if all sellers would do the same, eventually everything would be mapped ;-)

I'm starting to do so, but the problem sometimes is that the items does not exist and then I submit them, but I have to wait to be approved, then I have to submit another time, all the info.

There is no way to submit all the info when creating an item, no?

I (and others) have lobbied for an improvent of the item creation page before (like being able to submit an external ID or other ID's, adding an image, size and weight, or any other detail). This really should be a priority for @lawrence as indeed 'contributors' have a certain item laying in front of them on their desk, realise they need to create it, then need to patiently wait for approval, then need to get back to the thing that was sitting on their desk hours (or days) ago. It's a waste of time and it's actually a bit frustrating as contributors need to 'grab back' to something they wanna be 'done with' in one shot. Thing is, when do contributors submit 'data'? When they have spare time, a day, 2 days later, they might not have the time... result: they forget about it (and I am speaking from experiance). Creating items should be a 'one shot' thing, one deals with it, puts it in a ziplock and into storage.... When I look at my office (which shouldn't be a stock), it's filled with little boxes and trays telling me 'I need to deal with that stuff', once in a while I'll pick one out and spend a few hours on it, but when I do, I really want to empty the tray so I can move to the next, right now that is not possible...

I have had items approved months later the submission... or rejected because "it already exists" (but it didn't exist when I submitted!). I mostly stopped after that. [-(

We need a better system. I'm generating lists of everything that's missing from the BrickOwl catalog, and they keep growing over time...

Just spent a view hours on the catalog today and those features sound like music in my ears ! Item creation with weight, picture and id should save us a slot of time

For many items that already exist in both catalogs (but just need to be matched up), it should be possible to make a short program that would submit them all. I am thinking mostly of printed parts (heads, torsos, tiles, etc).

Look up the item on the other site, then see if it has a PCC on the small images page

If yes, look up that PCC on BO:

If it only returns one result, we have a match. Edit the uncolored version on BO to add the original BLID.
