'Request a Quote' Question

I can't seem to find any information on this, so I'll ask here...

As a buyer, in order to request a quote the buyer needs to proceed to checkout, provide a shipping address and then await a quote. Since the buyer has no idea what the quote may be, is there an obligation to complete the purchase? Or is it permissible to clear the cart and walk away if the quote is objectionable?

Whats the proper etiquette is this situation?

  • A quote is simply that: a quote. It is neither an order nor a reservation. So you can walk away with a clear conscience :-)

As a seller it makes it much easier to actually see what is in the cart in order to decide how to quote. This is a clear advantage over Bricklink where people had to try to describe the parts in their cart or order and cancel afterwards.
