Forum posts become auto-read

I've mentioned this a few times before, am I the only one experiencing this? When I logged into the forum this morning I found 11 threads that were bold faced meaning new or unread updates. I clicked *ONE* of the threads to read. When I went back to the forum, *FIVE* of the threads including the one I just read became marked as read. I still can't figure out what triggers this. It doesn't seem to be a particular author, date, status or anything else.

Help!

I'm afraid I don't know why this happens, I don't think it would be easy for me to track down at it's in the forum code that I didn't write.

Might be due to your browser, I'm not experiancing this with Firefox, running on version 45.0.1
What browser are you using?

Same here. FireFox 45.0.1 and always stay up-to-date. I have never noticed a post show as read that I have not read.

I have seen it happen on my iPad, but not on my laptop with Firefox.

Happens on Chrome.

Chrome v49. Maybe that's it, a miscomm between Chrome and Forum.

Guys, that's the Chrome page preload/prefetch feature in action. It preloads pages it expects you to open, so the BrickOwl server thinks you have already opened the links.

I think Chrome puts something in the HTTP headers for prefetch queries that BrickOwl could recognize and handle.
