Part variations

I currently don't distinguish between part variations but am planning to begin to do so. I'm a glutton for punishment, obviously. Is anyone aware of a comprehensive list of such variations?

As an aside, it would be awesome if it were possible to choose which parts we distinguish variations of. For example, I would elect to distinguish between the three different 1 x 2 jumper plates, but not the rounded/square corner versions of brackets and panels.

There are a handful of recent variations identified that aren't in my list that I've been meaning to add. I think a few are BL catalog admins splitting parts that never used to be variations. Every time I see "pending catalog deletions" on my BL page I cringe. It's also a little subjective as to what is a "functional variation" that changes the part enough to be distinguished. Like the round 2x2 tile with "X" or "O" bottom.

^Those are actually different since one can attach to a stud, for example on top of a 1x1 round brick and the other can't.

Try making a little table for your minifigs using a 3062 Round brick and the round tile with O, then try the same with the tile with the old 'X' mold and you'll know why there is a functional difference ;-)

The X bottom is a great stud reversal tool since it will hold a 1x1 plate or brick.
