Barcode/ QR-code for LEGO bricks?

Hi. This may be a silly question, but would it be an idea for BO to use QR-codes or barcodes for registering new parts for sale? Scanning a barcode in a tarifold or could possible make regitering new parts more efficient?

I believe you can create QR codes to link to any web address, so you could make your own QR codes to link to the item pages of specific items if you wanted
