Would there be a benefit to the catalog search box being able to figure out what you're typing and give you options? This would be similar to the search function of Google or NetFlix. It might help with people who are terrible spellers or remember a letter grouping or a very small part of the name. Rather than continue to search and give up, some hints in the search box might trigger their memory to exactly what they're looking for.

While you're at it, also support partial search. I see no reason why I need to type in a full word to get a hit.

Sounds like a good eye dear, however due to google's intrusion into privacy I now use duckduckgo.com as my search engine;)
