Apologies you couldn't post in the other topic as it was in announcements. There isn't auto enrolment, but I believe a few stores previously agreed to test a new affiliate scheme...but I really can't remember how this came about now. I should have removed these before enabling the scheme so my apologies.
Ouch. This is good news, although I'm very surprised BrickOwl agreed to give different percentages to different affiliates.
Rebrickable and WallOfBricks receive 2.5% and they carry a lot more weight than SwapFig (never heard of it before). I don't understand why the new kid on the block should get a better deal...
Same thought here. High commission for just advertising of minifigures. I'm trying it, but might turn it off due to the high rate of commission. Depends on the amount of return. The others advertise so much more for just 2.5%. Definitely a much better deal. We'll see... Melissa
The margins are generally much better on minifigs and polys.
Depend on the location where is popular on selling minifigs as in the UK there a severe lack of minifig interests so I don't buy and re-sell only what I found from the Lego I brought at boot sales. I found one full fig and half fig yesterday but not in the hurry to put it in here, chucked it at the loft with other parts to be sorted out in the near future.
For your information, the affiliate have always been able to set their own rates of commission, we leave this up to the affiliate. Furthermore, the commission is only charged on sales that are directly as a result of your listing on their website. The commission is not a charge for ongoing advertising, therefore the amount of "advertising" an affiliate offers, should not affect the value for money that the commission rate provides.
Speaking in my opinion, the value for money of an affiliate should be assessed based on the value of the orders it provides.
