Coupon notification

I have posted about this before (twice already?) but I still really believe this is an issue that must be fixed. I have recently received a coupon:

Stragus,
A new coupon has been created for you at [...].
"Thanks [...] !"
You can redeem your coupon from the cart page the next time you visit [...].

Again, the coupon notification doesn't say what the coupon actually is or does. Is it a percentage discount? A flat amount? Free shipping? A customer has to put stuff in a cart, apply the coupon and only then try to guess what it does.

It's also potentially misleading. A dishonest seller could create a coupon that says "40% off" while it's only 30% off, and many customers might not actually realize the difference.

I believe the system needs to show what coupons are good for, both in the email notification and when applying them.

Thanks.

  • Agreed, and it should also show any limitations: for example mine are normally set at 15 Euro discount max on the whole amount (regardless of % given) and on what it applies on (parts, sets, minifigs etc), dunno whether the 'comment' actually shows in the notification (I do write the % in the comment)
  • Yes, the coupon comments are visible (that was the "Thanks [...] !" line above).

Though, many sellers don't actually specify what their coupons do, and I believe we need to see the raw information of the coupons received, independently of the coupon comments.
