Sort List of Stores by Number of Lots

I'd like to see the Stores page have another column added that shows the number of lots a store is selling. This number would not include empty lots or lots that aren't for sale. I believe this would be a good and useful feature because it would show buyers how much variety stores have. Relying on only the quantity of parts to find a store to buy from can frequently be frustrating because some stores may have 100,000's of parts but not much variety because they have 100's or 1,000's of pieces in every lot.

  • A store could still have many duplicate lots.

I generally find stores by browsing the catalog or through wishlists. The store list doesn't seem like a great starting point, I didn't think people were using it that way.
  • I was wondering about this also. I mostly get lots of small (under $5) sales here whereas I get less but larger sales on bl. I wonder if it is because most the buyers over there are experienced with wishlist and buyers over here are not. I have lots of buyers tell me how cool this website is and how they never knew they could buy individual legos, so it seems as though most the buyers here are a completely different clientele than bl. I think it would be cool if there was a "how to" video that buyers can view when they set up their account. I think it would increase our sales if they understood how to get more from each seller.
  • @Stragus I didn't consider duplicate lots. I would like to add to my original suggestion that duplicate lots would not be shown in the number.

There are issues no matter what we do. For example, sorting by number of parts: some sellers have 1,000's of Technic pins or other small cheap common parts that artificially make them look like big sellers on the list.
  • @logansbricks Over here, the order average is about $40 on both marketplaces with 56% of the orders coming from BrickOwl. You really need to open up your store to international orders though! :)

To speed up finding good stores, I would rather repeat my suggestion from an year ago... When clicking on a wishlist to see all matching lots in a store, don't show just the price for each lot, also show the total quantity without having to click "Add to Cart"!

It would all be so much easier if I could figure out if a store has stuff I want in a quick glance over the wishlist results. I'm not sure why @Lawrence doesn't like the idea, it seems rather obvious to me.
  • I tend to agree with logansbricks on brickowl the order sizes are tiny ( almost like they arnt using some sort of want list) just buying a few parts here and there as on bricklink the orders are massive with people buy tons of different lots.
