Question about mass inventory update

Hi. I decided to change all of the prices in my store by 1% using the mass inventory update feature. However, only about 1/2 of the lots were updated. Is this because increasing or decreasing a price by 1% can sometimes be a change of less than .001 so it is ignored? Or is there some other reason?

In that case, my pricing idea probably won't work. I was thinking about starting new lots at current maximum, but reducing the entire store inventory by 1% every day. The theory was that eventually each lot would get to the magic point where it will sell and the store would always have a mix of higher and lower priced items. I'll have to stick with current plan that changes the entire inventory to a certain level (example: current average, then subtract 10%).
