Color question

I'm not sure how to determine if my part is pearl gold or metallic gold. I thought all my parts were pearl gold, but some are darker than others. Is there some variation in pearl gold? Or, do I possibly have some metallic gold parts? Any suggestions?

I'm having a similar problem with flat silver.

  • Flat Silver and Pearl Gold are dull compared to their slightly shiny metallic equivalents. It gets easier to spot them over time. A good way to learn how to spot Metallic Silver from Flat Silver is if you have some round 1 x 1 plates of each colour. Put them in a pile and it should be easy to spot the difference.
  • Pearl colors look a little bit swirly, especially at or opposite of the sprue. Metallic colors are consistent in color. Chrome is shiny. Metallic looks like chrome that is dull.
  • In my experience, the pearl gold color shows quite a bit of variation between parts and sets. Your pars could easily be all pearl gold, with some darker than others.
