seperate tracking & insurance option

hi,

i work on my shipping methods and i have an idea.
is it possible, that we can have a seperate tracking & insurance option, with an own Pricing rules.

For example:

An order have the value of 150.-€ and goes out as an "Großbrief" for 500g.

costs:
+ 3.45 € for Großbrief
+ 2.05 € for tracking
+ 2 x 1.50 € for insurance (150.-€) (1.50 € for each 100.-€ ordervalue)

I hope you understand this. :)

many regards

  • hello everybody,
    i see you don´understand me.
I need a shipping method, that support the shipping methods from Deutsche Post, DHL and Hermes.
Thats is very important for me and german sellers.

If someone take an order and pay this order with Paypal, so i can´t add an addinional charge, like tracking & insurance costs.

Please ask me if you have any questions about that.

    many regards from Germany

  • I'll take a stab at this one, though I am no official.

Most countries have this in one form or another so you are no alone.

I think you can create three (or more) shipping methods for these choices.

    normal

    tracked,

tracked, insured, -- and sub categories based on $ value there.

These show up for the buyer as they are relevant. A bit of work, but you have the freedom to set it up as you want.

You create as many methods as you need to fulfill how you want to run your store.

If you put these "extra costs" in your prices, it becomes much easier to set up. The inverse true as well.

  • @all
I have worked on the idea from walstib, and see annother problem.

I put for some items in my cart for testing the shipping method.
My test cart had an 40.- € value.
And now i can choose shipping method between 100.-€ and 600.- € insurance.

But the question, "Which sence make it, to choose a 300.-€ insurance, for a 40.-€ ordervalue.", can you answer by yourself. ;)

So it is possible, that we can get an seperate field "Minimum Order Subtotal Limit" analog to "Maximum Order Subtotal Limit " So that we have an From x to y relation. And we can better locate it to the ordervalue.

    many regards
