Shipping to Malaysia?

Anyone ship from the US to Malaysia? Any concerns that the order will not make it there? Is 1st class international sufficient or should I quote for Priority Padded International Flat Rate?

@johnsma2000 I have shipped successfully once to Malaysia via 1st Class International.

Was it slower than shipping to any other country and did you insure the package?

@Johnsma2000 it seemed in line with all of my other shipments that have gone to Asia. It was under $10 so I did not insure it.

I have shipped 3-4 orders to Malaysia. All but one were USPS First class and took 8-12 days. One was USPS Priority and took ages (about a month) to clear customs. It was a high value order (Green Grocer). The customer told me he could have "expedited" the customs clearance process but declined to do so and that is why it took so long.

First class packages are tracked all the way. I only insured the Priority package.
