New Postal Rates - 1st Class Mail Package More Expensive

Hi everyone,

I have heard that Priority Mail prices would be lower starting today, which I thought was excellent. However, this morning, as I'm printing my labels for 1st Class Mail packages (using Endicia), I was surprised that it's charging me $2.32 for the base price. That's an increase of 39¢ per package over the usual base price of $1.93.

Is this an issue with Endicia or are we all going to have to raise our shipping rates?

  • That is the retail price, sounds like Endicia isn't giving you the discounted rate. As far as I know USPS can only adjust First Class prices 1x per year without legal hurdles galore. I checked my stamps.com and paypal rates and as of this posting still the $1.93 up to 3oz domestic rate for 1st class.
  • Ok. I've sent a support request to Endicia. They owe me some postage refunds because I printed the labels anyway not wanting to delay my customers packages.
  • On one of my computers after the latest update Endicia has automatically selected use retail rate. The other one was fine. There is a check box a little over an inch above where you would put in the email address on the left that says "use retail price". I would make sure yours didn't get checked.

  • I'm still waiting for their customer support reply. I did make sure that "use retail rate" was not selected. I also checked for updates to make sure I had the latest version of Dazzle.

Isn't it true that all Endicia customers receive the commercial base price or commercial plus? I have the standard account and have been using it for a little over a month with no issues until this morning.
  • Update: Endicia never responded to my support request. However I found out through their Facebook page, that the recent update caused most customers to pay retail instead of commercial base or commercial plus.

Anyone who uses the Dazzle program from Endicia should get the newest update their software, version 14.4.04 to solve the problem.

There's also talk of refunding customers who paid retail rates on Monday and Tuesday.
