All this month, my sales have been very slow. I've heard of the summer slow-down, but this is way too slow. Am I the only one, or has everyone been having a slow month?
I couldn't actually answer the question as I started selling just 3 months ago. I can only say that as a side hobby and just 80k parts, 2 orders per day seems quite enough (with the occasional rush of 12 over a week-end).
I was at about 50K parts last winter "busy season" and I was averaging about 6 orders per day. I am now just shy of 165K parts so I am looking forward to winter at the size I am now.
Right now is not horrible, we are still receiving orders, just not as many as I would like. But that is ok, I know winter is on its way.
I was referring to seeing how much of all orders placed on BO are in your store. I don't see that there or am I missing something? On BL I can calculate that I'm catching a steady 1‰ of all orders placed. So when the river is running dry, I know that it's not my fault but just a low outside of my control. It's useful info, because when your sales drop and you actually are catching a smaller portion of all orders, you know you're doing something wrong or it's time to upload new inventory. I understand if the admin doesn't want us to see that kind of info, but it would be pretty cool if we could.
Sorry, misunderstood your question. Yes it would be nice to see some overal data, or at least an overview with some % (they don't need to show exact figures), but it's up to Admin to show or not. On the other hand, you don't need the statistics of the site to determine wether you need to upload or not. If you keep track of the number of items listed, your number of orders (+items sold) and the number of items and their value 'remaining' in your store, you can pretty much figure it out for yourself. My store is open for nearly 11 months, an average inventory between 40K and 60K items, I average 1 order per day, sold 21K items (an average of 66 items per order) and have 45K left, so I know that I need to add about 2K of parts each month to keep it running at the same pace...

Yes, but, unless there is an overall low in sales In that case it's probably pulling a dead horse. If you know how your portion compares to the others, you have a much better idea of what's up. For example, I might change my store front or shipping options and suddenly.... no orders :O then if I knew it's overall BO low time it'd be ok, but if it turns out it's super sale time, I'd probably change it back to how it was Also, if you buy a pile of very freaky inventory that you haven't tried before (say, Duplo ) and it turns out your portion of orders grows, you know that you've hit a new piece of market. If you only know that your sales increase, you can't be sure what's up, could be a good month for BO as a whole.
But I agree, it's not necessary info. It's just useful and cool. On BL you can infer it from the order number increments (which is probably not intended ), but order numbers seem to be random on BO.

How more busy are non-summer days supposed to be?

It was ok for me.

You can select several options and also a date range and see all the details ;-)
