I just noticed that I have received 3 payments in my bank account that I wasn't aware of, because all three customers did not mark the order as 'payment submitted'. When they don't, I don't know when or where to look and it doesn't appear in my to do list in the upper right corner to get the orders ready for shipping.
I now added a request for customers to do so in the payment details, that might fix it in the future. However, maybe it's a good idea if BrickOwl somehow encourages buyers a bit more to mark orders as paid? It seems like right now it isn't obvious enough to them that "pending" is a status that requires _their_ action, rather than the seller's.. after all, the description of "pending" is telling me as a seller to wait, so that's what I do when I see that status.

I think you are expected, as seller, to watch for payments and flag the orders as paid.
Some buyers don't know that you can set this. Other will never do it, same as set the orderstatus to received and/or leave feedback...

When they mark the order as paid, I will just ship out right away, and verify some time later.. saves time. Also, when they mark it as paid you know which date section to look for when verifying. I just had another order, has been left on pending, I hope this time it's an actual pending and not another person who forgot :P
I see you are Dutch: My bank (ABN) has an option to sen an e-mail when a payment has been made to your account. Costs 0.05 cents per e-mail I believe, but it is definitly worth it.
I am still spending too much time figuring out payments, because even though I've attached clear instructions with bank transfer payment methods, people still don't mark orders as "payment submitted"
My bank doesn't mail me notifications of received funds and it's really tedious doing the log on procedure for online banking all of the time to plow through the mutations to look for some payment that potentially is not there because it isn't submitted yet.
Even if it were there it'd still be a good idea if there'd be more discipline to mark orders as payment submitted, because (1) the notifications by bank cost commission (2) if it doesn't arrive you can ask what's up sooner (3) it's useful in case you want to ship an order in advance or you want to tape it shut and make it ready for shipping..
I'm much quicker if customers indicate payment submitted because of my tendency to ship in advance, and that gives a much better customer experience. Saves about two days.
